The Operations and Data Analyst provides management and support to the finance and operations, academic and student affairs and admissions, and career functions of the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research ???IEOR??? Department
Responsibilities
(45%)Data Reporting & Management
Provide data reports to Department Chair, Finance and Operations, Academic, and Career Teams; pull, collate and clean data from various systems to provide accurate information for presentations, data analysis, surveys, websites, strategy implementation, data audits; maintain historical data reporting (data includes student, courses, enrollment, faculty and adjunct teaching, appointment data, finance and reconciliations, career placements, admissions, grade review, etc.)
Management and implement data tracking processes and systems; creating/maintaining student databases, tracking historical student advising notes and finance and appointment data
Streamline data reporting processes and analysis across teams and Department, clean data and support data imports and exports.
Create data visualization and presentations for admissions, academic, career and financial reporting purposes.
(30%) Systems and Applications
Lead automation projects related to admissions and academic/student affairs (e.g. CPT/OPT process, clearances, course registration, course management system, registration audits)
Vendor and new system management/implementation including contract negotiations, system rollout, testing, system/application review, implementation/planning of new technologies. Pulse of new technology for academic use to improve processing, data reporting, grade review, admissions, clearances, advising notes, career data and student placement, student database for centralized tracking and data reporting.
Set/maintain the best practices for data reporting and processes across teams
Maintain/improve student data and tracking, TA/CA appointments, adjunct appointment data and tracking, financial reconciliations; provide analytics
(20%) Administrative and Operations
Support Departmental special events
Provide and update content for Departmental website in the areas of admissions, academic and student affairs and curricular changes
Assist with IEOR Student Navigator assignments, mentorship assignments, assigning students for yield activities during admissions
Assist with townhall technologies, e.g. setting up zoom
Work with System Administrator and respective teams on mailing lists
Assist with Career, Academic and Finance Teams on various tasks during heavy volumes/deadlines
(5%) Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor degree is required; graduate level work is preferred. Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience with data and data analytics; with an ability to identify, analyze trends and interpret the data.
Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy is essential; ability to manage multiple priorities with poise and discretion required.
Familiar and appreciate student and academic affairs, departmental program curriculum and requirements, and web management and administration.
Strong computer literacy/proficiency required: an understanding and appreciation of student services database software and on-line resources, and the willingness to respond to the needs of prospective and current students and faculty in a technologically-oriented society. Proficiency with Google suite of products, MS office, publishing software, etc.
