Northeastern University's Division of Information Technology is currently seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Application Administrator. The Application Administrator will participate in the delivery and administration of Enterprise Applications and Systems that meet the academic and administrative needs of the University. As a valued member of the ITS team, you will be working in both Agile and traditional SDLC teams to ensure the reliable operations of the systems supporting the University's core business.
The Application Administrator:
Is responsible for the installation, configuration and administration of enterprise systems and related application modules
Administer and maintain (upgrade/patch) application/system tiers, including web tiers, application tiers, and database tiers.
Design, monitor, and maintain enterprise application security subsystems to assign appropriate access and permissions.
Provide input and recommendations for system and capacity planning, process improvements, downtime, and disaster recovery remediation.
Build and maintain production and pre-production environments in support of development and release management methodologies.
Leverage CI/CD tools to automate operational administration tasks.
Build and maintain capability for automated system monitoring and alerting.
Provide technical support in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
Possesses working knowledge of networking and operating systems.
The key challenge of this position is to ensure that the technologies and services deployed by the department are properly maintained, sufficiently available, and kept current with vendor standards and emerging best practices. To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.
This position will focus primarily on application services in the Student Affairs department. The largest responsibility will entail management of the CBord CSGold ID Card and Access Management System. Other systems that will require support in collaboration with Student Affairs functional and technical staff will include RMS Mercury, Star Rez and EMS.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Minimum of bachelor's degree in a related field (ex: Computer Science, Information Systems), preferably with continuing studies and course work. o 5+ years of experience in the administration, installation, and configuration of enterprise applications/systems, database management software such as Oracle/SQL Server, SQL Scripting, PL/SQL, reporting tools, HTML and CSS. o 3+ years of experience with UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows administration. o 2+ years of experience in the administration, installation, and configuration of web and application servers, preferably in any of the following products: Apache/Tomcat, IBM (HTTP Server/WebSphere Application Server), Oracle (HTTP Server/Web Logic Server), Microsoft IIS. o 2+ years of experience in Higher Education Systems such as Ellucian Banner, RMS Mercury, CS Gold, StarRez and EMS. o Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years of experience with CI/CD, automation, configuration management tools (ex: Jenkins, Ansible).
1+ years of experience working with SQL on relational databases.
Technical certification in Cloud, OpenSource stack, DevOps technologies. The expected hiring range for this position is USD $95,130 to USD $121,295, based upon the position's scope and responsibilities.
