Detailed Description: Oversees the ADA required academic accommodation services related to note-taking and assistive technology provided to students registered with the Disability and Learning Difference Resource Center (DLDRC). Maintains a caseload of students with disabilities in need of individualized support services with particular emphasis on students identifying with learning differences/disabilities. Provides individualized technology coaching and support to students who utilize assistive technologies. Actively seeks to align DLDRC policies and procedures associated assistive technology with best practices and ADA guidelines. Provides appropriate consultation regarding the assistive technology needs of students with disabilities to university stakeholders including students, parents, faculty, and administrators.
Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees the implementation of ADA mandated academic accommodations.
Manages the ADA required note taking service for students with disabilities. Consults with faculty regarding implementation of note taking service for students with disabilities.
Manages the adaptive technology services for students with disabilities.
Manages electronic database of student accommodation requests and utilization.
Liaisons with Information Technology Services to ensure up to date technology/software capabilities to provide needed accommodations.
Assists with review of documentation to determine reasonable academic accommodations, particularly related to students with learning differences/disabilities.
Provides consultation, support and training for students with disabilities.
Provides assistive technology coaching for students registered with the DLDRC.
Provides consultation to faculty, staff and parents regarding assistive technologies.
Maintains confidential electronic record of student services.
Serves as a liaison between students and faculty to ensure access to accommodations.
Assists students who experience challenges with navigating departmental and/or university-wide processes and/or guidelines.
Maintains regular caseload of students to provide disability management counseling with particular emphasis on students benefiting from academic (reading/writing/math strategies) and/or assistive technology support.
Provides administrative support to the department as needed.
Assists in monitoring the overall campus accessibility(both programmatic and physical) and will be assigned management of specific projects/programs related to campus accessibility.
Monitors best practices in higher education accessibility and universal design to promote best practices within DLDRC and on USD campus.
Assists with acute interventions and decision making in consultation with Director and serves as the Director's designee when needed.
Service to the larger USD Community
Provides training and education to faculty, academic programs (tutoring centers, etc.) regarding best practices for supporting/instructing students with disabilities
Serves on Wellness Area, Student Affairs Division and/or University committees as assigned.
Contribute to or lead additional division/campus projects outside of typical duties to help further accomplish student or organizational goals. Additional assignments may be seasonal, ad hoc or ongoing, depending on the project.
Develops and maintain relationships across multiple campus departments (Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, University Operations, etc.) to support access and accommodations.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Counseling or related field with an emphasis in assistive technology.
Five years of experience working with students in the field of disability management
Expertise in working with students with educational or assistive technologies needs
Knowledge of American with Disabilities Act and Section 504 as they pertain to a post-secondary environment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with faculty, administrators, students and their families.
Familiarity with Catholic higher education and willingness to support the Catholic mission and vision of the University.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with students in a college/university setting
Experience and comfort in working with and providing support to students who self identify with psychiatric disabilities
