Job Description:
1. Identify and negotiate job opportunities for Garden State Pathways students with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities both on and off the college campus.
2. Forge productive partnership/relationships with various community agencies and external stakeholders to connect with and support students.
3. Address employers concerns about hiring and supervising individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities while maintaining the confidentiality of the job seeker.
4. Orient new students to educational, vocational and employment services or opportunities.
5. Assist in conducting educational and employment assessments of students.
6. Assist in creation of a functional resume with the students.
7. Initiate creation of education/employment file for new students and assure all students documents are filed regularly.
8. Participate in team meetings.
9. Assist client in securing documentation needed for employment and training opportunities.
10. Assist on-site interviews with students as needed at job fairs and recruiting events.
11. Engages students through a variety of communication channels which may include Zoom, student calls, email/text/chat and proactive outreach to students.
12. Meet individually and in small groups with students as needed.
13. Coordinate and participate in orientation for new students.
14. Assist Assistant Director of Disability Services/Garden State Pathways in hosting employer/employee appreciation luncheon.
15. Create and employment advising board to discuss current employment trends/issues.
