Position Summary
Provides strategic leadership and direction for the School. The Senior Associate Dean and Director contributes to the vision, mission, reputation, and organizational effectiveness of Olin Business School for the Graduate Programs. This leader is responsible for the execution of graduate program initiatives as part of the overall Olin strategic plan and as aligned with the WashU strategic plan. The Senior Associate Dean and Director leads recruitment, admissions, financial aid, academic advising/student affairs and support functions related to all graduate programs.
Job Description
This position involves 15% travel, including international destinations and off-campus meetings.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provide strategic counsel and support of graduate programs.Â
Through careful analysis of industry trends and the shifting landscape of graduate and non-degree business education along with consideration for the strengths and culture of the school, the Senior Associate Dean and Director of Olin Graduate Programs provides strategic counsel to the schoolâ™s Dean and senior leadership with regard to the progress of the graduate masterâ™s degree programs. Implements plans to continue to improve the quality and rankings of Olinâ™s programs.
Works to develop and implement short and long term goals and objectives of the school.
Collaborates with senior colleagues from career services and marketing and communications to build a pipeline of high quality prospective students through aligned strategies and effective execution.
Direct and supervise activities of assigned staff.
Responsible for leading a successful and high-functioning team of skilled professionals in a manner that supports and enables them to achieve success and innovate for the future.Â
Creates an environment of a unified team that delivers to targets including enrollment and quality and diversity metrics.
Manages resolution to issues that are escalated by students, faculty and staff in a collaborative, professional approach, utilizing school and university established policies and committees when appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, academic integrity and professional code of conduct situations.
Develops/monitors and provides oversight of assigned departmentâ™s budget.

Preferred Qualifications
Masterâ™s degree or PhD in business.
Previous work experience with a proven track record in recruitment, admissions and academic advising. Substantive management experience in higher education.
Proven track record of managing a complex university setting with the depth and breadth of Olin's graduate programming.
Ten to fifteen years of progressively responsible.
Strong interpersonal skills, highly engaging style (a connector).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to be equally successful manage people in a highly collaborative environment as well as processes internally and across campus.
Relationship building among a highly diverse audience, internally and externally.
Ability to compile and use data and metrics to inform decision-making
Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree and ten years or relevant graduate degree and eight years of related experience.
