Summary of Duties:
The Associate Director is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and operations of onboarding and orientation programs for undergraduate students (first-year and transfer). In addition to planning, implementing, and supervising these programs, this individual will serve as the liaison between all colleges and service areas to determine orientation numbers, schedules, collaboration efforts, and logistics. The Associate Director will serve on various committees and initiatives dealing with transitional needs and creating unique orientation experiences for these populations and sub-populations. This individual supervises three (3) professional staff, including assistant directors, orientation coordinators, support staff, and graduate interns. This position also supports the director in providing vision and decisions on the leadership team in New Student Programs to reach departmental goals. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of New Student Enrollment. The Associate Director will serve on the larger New Student Enrollment leadership team that includes recruitment, marketing and communication, CRM, and visitation and will lead and provide support across the unit as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. One (1) or more years of experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree, preferably in student development, higher education administration, or related field. Five (5) years of professional experience can be substituted for this educational requirement.
Experience supervising professional staff.
Budgetary experience.
Increasing levels of responsibility in higher education student affairs roles.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
