Job Description: What We're Looking For
Baylor University School of Education is seeking a full-time LEAD LLC Program Director. As the LEAD LLC Program Director, you will work closely with the School of Education and the staff of Campus Living & Learning to foster a seamless living-learning experience for students through academic partnerships. The Program Director develops strategies for transformative education student experiences in academic and residential contexts, and designs and executes programming to support the mission of the LEAD LLC (Leadership, Education, and Development Living-Learning Center) to provide leaders, learners, and future educators to live together in community and grow personally and professionally as they develop a love of learning and service through leading and teaching others. This position is strongly ambassadorial, striving to encourage and unite students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the community toward a collective effort of building a community imbued with deeper cultural awareness and appreciation for multiculturalism and inclusivity. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Understanding of the needs of a diverse student population within a Christian higher education setting and an openness to cultural humility.
Be successful communicating and interacting with all campus populations including students, faculty, and staff.
A Master's degree, two years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. Four years of relevant work experience are preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Coordinate the recruitment, admission, and reapplication/retention process for LEAD LLC.
Coordinate recruitment, application, admission, and selection processes for both upper-division and incoming freshmen and transfer students
Liaison with Campus Living & Learning concerning occupancy management of all bed spaces and assignments within the LLC
Collaborate with School of Education Dean's office to recruit students to SOE through programs such as Premiere, Daily Visits, I2E, SOE Preview Day, etc.
Respond to inquiries and address all promotion of the LLC, including publication, development, parent/student inquiries, University events (Premiere, Orientation, etc.)
Assist with program assessment, analysis, and data collection concerning student success and retention
Liaison with Student Learning and Engagement to oversee the scholarship process, iLeader Program, and involvement requirements of current upperclassmen scholarship recipients.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee Impact programming
Oversee the LLC student organization leadership team in planning and implementing student-led programming, curricular, and recruiting activities (i.e., meet weekly with student leaders).
Coordinate the LLC's calendar of events and activities that support the curricular and co-curricular aspects of the program in conjunction with hall staff (i.e., all hall programs, printing monthly calendars, etc.)
Develop and manage an effective communication strategy and campaigns including, but not limited to, print materials and website that describe and promote interest in activities, programs, and services sponsored by the LEAD LLC, and social media and texting programs
Manage the overall student programmatic fee budget, including purchasing. Determine needs and project resource requirements to prepare annual budget proposal and monitor finances.
Collaborate with Campus Partners
Attend the monthly Living-Learning Program Directors meeting facilitated by Campus Living & Learning and other related events and trainings
Collaborate with Campus Living & Learning on LLP-related initiatives (Move-in Day, hall staff selection, Housing Reapplication, etc.)
Collaborate closely with Residence Hall Director, Faculty-in-Residence, Community Leaders, Resident Chaplain, Faculty Advisors and other associated individuals who support the LLC.
Serve as chair for the LEAD LLC Advisory Board comprised of faculty, staff, and students and administer two Advisory Board meetings for the LLC each semester
Oversee the Learning Resource Express and its functioning in partnership with the School of Education's Learning Resource Center
Recruit, train, and supervise LLC Student Assistants and, as available, LLC Graduate Assistant/Apprentice
Promote the LEAD LLC as central to Baylor's mission; Serve on University committees related to international opportunities, international students, global engagement, and student life; Represent the University in professional organizations and meetings.
