Summary of Duties:
The Hanford History Project (HHP) at the WSU Tri-Cities campus is recruiting for a Preservation & Museum Specialist. This position manages all aspects of the U. S. Department of Energy's Hanford Collection artifacts, following and implementing accepted museum professional standards and practices. Directly manages the acquisition, documentation, care, maintenance and handling, use and access, copyright, environmental monitoring of objects and facilities, object-based database development, and security (including compliance with federal Export Control laws and regulations).
Additional duties will include facilitating access to the collection, outreach and content management and creation of content for the Hanford History Project.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in history, anthropology, archaeology, museum studies, fine arts, education or closely related field and two years experience as a museum curator; OR equivalent education/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in archaeology, history, museum studies, or related field.
At least two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified within a professional setting.
At least two years of full time experience with artifact preservation.
Experience in research, writing, teaching, interpretation, or other professional activity with an academic institution, historic organization or agency, museum, or other professional institution.

Monthly Salary: Range 42, $3,401.00 - $4,425.00.00 (Step A - Step L) per month -Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
