Summary Position The Assistant Director of the Gender & LGBTQIA Center for Gender-based Violence Prevention & Training is the project director for the Office of Violence Against Women's Campus Grant project at Elon University. The goal of the Elon: Connect. Prevent. Transform. project is to build capacity and enhance the quality of prevention and response for all students, especially those with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC identities. This position supports the advancement of awareness and education of sexual violence, relationship abuse and stalking (gender-based violence - GBV) response and prevention resources through enhancing strategic partnerships and campus programs. The Assistant Director coordinates collaborative and intentional training for campus and community partners to deepen expertise in survivor response and prevention efforts. This position supervises peer educator/mentor positions for BIPOC and fraternity/sorority communities, delivers educational programs, develops accessible resources, and oversees the assessment of grant activities. The Assistant Director partners across administration, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community to support, advocate, and educate around gender-based violence to create an inclusive, safe and healthy campus community committed to equity, justice and academic excellence. This position is a three-year grant project, funded through September 2025, with a possible extension through 2028.

Education Requirements Bachelors degree required - field of study: social work, public health, gender and sexuality studies, or related field. Masters degree preferred in higher education, student personnel, social work, public health, gender and sexuality studies, or related field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Strategic & Collaborative Leadership Serve as a visible campus leader, coordinator, and advocate for education and prevention of sexual violence, relationship abuse, and stalking Create and maintain strategic partnerships that advance victim-survivor services and resources, including with law enforcement, campus disciplinary offices, legal services, health care, and community response agencies Co-lead the Coordinated Community Response team of campus and community stakeholders, with the goals to strengthen victim services collaboration, deepen expertise and training, and promote prevention education among members and campus programs Work closely with community partners such as CrossRoads Sexual Assault Response & Resource Center, Family Abuse Services of Alamance County, the Family Justice Center of Alamance County and the Guilford Green Foundation and LGBTQ Center in Greensboro to enhance victim advocacy and schedule training education programs Collaborate with campus and community partners, especially local police departments, the Title IX Office, and community victim advocacy agencies, to assess protocol and to design, coordinate and implement annual trainings for law enforcement and members of campus disciplinary boards Ensure campus and community partner attendance at required OVW Technical Assistance Institutes Consult and advise campus and community partners on strategies and resources that support victim-survivors Assist the Associate Director of the GLC with the gender violence prevention, education, and climate plan for the campus in partnership with campus and community partners, including the Title IX Office, the Office for Inclusive Excellence Education and Development, and the Sexual Assault & Gender Issues CouncilAssist with the maintenance of MOUs with relevant campus and community partners 2. Educational Programs Management Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of incoming student education on sexual violence, relationship abuse and stalking awareness and prevention Manage the tracking and follow-up for the mandatory incoming student education program on sexual violence, relationship abuse and stalking Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and mentor grant-funded Peer Mentors for BIPOC and fraternity/sorority communities who are part of the GLCs student team (the Coalition for Learning, Empowerment & Anti-Violence Resources) for sexual violence, relationship abuse and stalking prevention and education, Adapt and implement workshops on supporting survivors and cultural competency for supporting LGBTQ+ and BIPOC survivors Develop and implement the Survivor Support Allies program, providing ongoing education and support for faculty and staff members who support survivors Create and manage a program of Residence Assistant Ambassadors to infuse information on gender-based violence resources, education, and prevention into first-year residence hall communities Partner with the Guilford Green Foundation & LGBTQ Center in Greensboro to support the development and activities of the Intern for GBV Training and PartnershipProvide consultation and serve in a connector role for student groups with goals around gender-based violence prevention and violence response, including SPACE: Students Promoting Advocacy, Change & Empowerment, EFFECT: Elon Feminists, and SPARKS Peer Health Education 3.
