This position is responsible for overseeing all duties associated with competitive Division III track & field(indoor and outdoor) and cross country programs. The position reports to the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide vision and leadership in the development of competitive Division III track & field and cross country programs. Create and sustain an atmosphere that promotes academic and personal growth of student-athletes. Compliance with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy when performing job responsibilities. Provide leadership that helps the student-athletes develop build their skill sets on and off the field.
• Development of a successful comprehensive recruiting plan with focus on recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes. Meet goals for student visits, applications, deposits and program enrollment.
• Oversee all administrative aspects of the program including team travel, scheduling of events and practices, budget management and travel arrangements.
• Engage in community outreach and alumni engagement initiatives. Participate in fundraising initiatives for the Athletic Department and the track & field/cross country programs.
• Serving as a member of the Student Affairs Division the candidate will have expectations of a broader campus involvement which may involve committees, events, and requirements outside of the Athletic Department. Candidate should have a global view of their involvement in the Suffolk community.
• Other duties within the athletic department may include, but not limited to: game management, committees, programing, supervision of work-study students, etc.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree Preferred.
• 3 years of successful track & field and cross country coaching experience. College level preferred.
• Experience coaching pole vault, multi's, and/or sprints/hurdles athletes is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in recruitment of student-athletes.
• Knowledge of NCAA and CCC rules and regulations.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
• This position requires afternoon, night, weekend hours combined with business hours and some moderate travel.
• A valid driver's license.
• Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED.
• Start date for the position is negotiable
