Job Description

Associate Director, Student Affairs Title IX

Boston College is seeking an Associate Director, Student Affairs Title IX, to support the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Student Affairs, with a focus on responding to Title IX reports involving Boston College students.

The Associate Director, reporting to and supervised by, the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Student Affairs, responds to Title IX reports ("sexual harassment") involving students and is responsible for meeting with individual students involved in such reports, including fulfilling all legally-required notification requirements for such students. For cases that proceed to a disciplinary complaint against a student, the Associate Director helps facilitate the student complaint process and collaborates with stakeholders and other University administrators throughout the investigation and hearing processes. The Associate Director will support the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Student Affairs by handling all record-keeping and reporting in compliance with required laws (e.g., the Clery Act, Massachusetts Campus Sexual Assault Law). The Associate Director works closely with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the University Title IX Coordinator, the Associate Dean for Student Conduct, and the Boston College Police Department in this function. In addition, the Associate Director plays an active role in developing and implementing education and training to the University Community, focused on sexual assault prevention and response.

In order to create a more inclusive community, each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $65,800 to $82,250; salary commensurate with relevant experience.



Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to establish a professional and compassionate environment focused on student support and respect.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information with community members related to sexual harassment policies, processes, and response. Ability to communicate effectively in a range of settings, including large groups and individual meetings.
  • Experience responding to individuals who have experienced sexual misconduct and/or have experienced trauma.
  • Values diversity and is responsive to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience working with a college student population.
  • A graduate degree in higher education, law, counseling or a related field is required.
