Mental Health Therapist/Counselor, Student Wellness Center, Vancouver Campus:

Would you like your work home to be in a beautiful campus setting? WSU Student Wellness Center is looking for a Mental Health Therapist/Counselor. If you are licensed or within a year of being licensed, apply online!

Summary of Duties:

Provide culturally affirming brief, focused individual counseling, group therapy and workshops, initial consultations, and crisis assessment and intervention to a diverse student population.

Provide training and clinical supervision in a training program for practicum counselors. Engage in outreach presentations and activities. Provide professional consultation to WSU faculty, staff, and students regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic challenges to enhance an inclusive campus climate for student success.

Required Qualifications:

Positions require a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or related field and the ability to become independently licensed as a mental health professional in the State of Washington within one (1) year of employment.

Additional Qualifications:

Demonstrated generalist clinical skills.

Demonstrated experience developing materials and content for presentations.

Experience working with high acuity individuals (e.g. suicide, eating disorders, substance abuse,

PTSD).

Experience providing risk assessment and clinical services to adults (18+) in an outpatient setting.

Demonstrated commitment to providing services to diverse student populations including, but not limited to BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, undocumented, migrant, and immigrant students, international students, and veterans.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of experience working in a university counseling center (experience obtained while earning degree is acceptable).

Counseling/Clinical experience with a university/college population.

Experience facilitating psychotherapy groups and workshops.

Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting.

Bilingual or multilingual.

Licensed as a Mental Health Counselor (MHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Work Location and Schedule:

Hybrid work schedule and flexible scheduling may be an option after the initial training period.

Monthly Salary:

$5,337/month - $5,625 /month ($64,044/year - $67,500/year). In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full approved salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current skills and abilities related to the position.
