Do you have a passion for providing guidance and direction for incoming students and establishing partnerships through community connection and outreach? WSU Vancouver has an Admissions Counselor to consider!

Summary of Duties.

The primary focus of this position is to support campus recruitment and enrollment initiatives through new student recruitment and outreach to applicants to enable Washington State University Vancouver to meet enrollment goals. This position proactively plans, coordinates, and implements outreach to high school students, many of whom are from underrepresented and underserved populations, including students of color and first-generation students.

This position recruits new students through active participation in recruitment events, high school and college fairs, email, phone, and provides general admissions and financial aid/scholarship information in a timely manner. Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships/contacts with high school counselors, teachers, and other community partners. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions.

Required Qualifications

Positions require a Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of experience directly related to student services. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements

Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire offer, a valid driver's license.

Ability to travel and work some weekends and evenings.

At times, remote work is required for this position. Successful applicants must have access to a high-speed internet connection that is secure and reliable. Strong technical skills in online meeting software (i.e., Zoom) is essential to perform the responsibilities listed above at a distance when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with higher education new student recruitment.

Previous experience working with high school-aged students.

Proficient in at least one language other than English; Spanish speaker preferred.

Experience working with low income, first generation, non-traditional and/or students of color.

Experience with academic technology such as CRMs, student records databases and/or learning modules.

Experience organizing and planning programs and public presentations.

Master's degree in a related field.

Work Location and Schedule:

Hybrid work schedule and flexible scheduling may be an option after the initial training period.

Monthly Salary

$4,050/month ($48,600/year). This is an entry level position with the potential to grow within the range, $4,050 to $4,941/month. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full approved salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current skills and abilities related to the position.
