Position Summary:
The Graduate School of Education (GSE) at the University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking an UBTR Professional Learning Coordinator for the UB Teacher Residency Program (UBTR). The Graduate School of Education is committed to fostering an equitable, diverse, just and inclusive environment. We seek individuals who have a demonstrated history of community-based advocacy and engagement in efforts to achieve equity, inclusivity and justice. As an extension of this commitment, the UB Teacher Residency program offers an accelerated, innovative, one-year initial teacher certification program for individuals who are committed to transformational teaching in public schools in Buffalo and WNY.
The UBTR Professional Learning Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director, Assistant Directors, university faculty, partner districts, mentor teachers, school leaders, and other stakeholders in preparing and supporting diverse, collaborative, and learner-ready teachers.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Developing and leading professional learning modules.
Providing coaching on merging evidence-based instructional practices with culturally responsive, critical, and transformative social-emotional pedagogies.
Facilitating sessions for resident-mentor pairs, school leaders, non-residency teacher-leaders, and consortium members.
Conducting classroom coaching sessions for participating classroom teachers.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in education or an education-related field and 3 years' experience working in schools as a teacher, school leader, counselor, social worker, or in another educational capacity.
The education and experience requirements may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to interact with a diverse group of faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of critical pedagogies, including culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogies, is imperative.
Ability to visit local placement site locations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in diverse and/or urban school settings and experience with instructional coaching or mentoring are preferred.
