Overview

The Office of Student Wellness (OSW) provides integrated wellness programs, services, and resources to the Boston Health Sciences students at Tufts University. The Student Wellness team works with all students to offer practical approaches to manage everyday stressors and life challenges.

 

The OSW offers wellness opportunities that are inclusive and promotes a culture that supports the personal development and academic successes of all students. These wellness opportunities aim to foster and support the mental, physical, and emotional health of students. 


What You'll Do

The Student Wellness Coordinator position is an inyteractive student facing position that works to inspire Tufts Boston Health Sciences students to cultivate life­long habits of wellness. This position sits at the intersection of event planning and coordination, communications and marketing, and administrative support for the OSW.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Plans, develops, markets, implements and evaluates active and passive student wellness programming activities to improve the overall well-being of the students on the Boston Health Sciences campus
  • Collaborates with the Student Wellness Advisor daily to plan wellness activities
  • Produces a weekly newsletter and directs other communications to all Tufts Health Sciences programs to promote wellness learnings and market upcoming wellness events
  • Coordinate directly with vendors and other third parties to plan events that support the
  • Provide day to day administrative support for the Office of Student Wellness, including responding to phone, email, and in-person inquiries from students and other members of the community.
  • Oversees social media including Instagram
  • Assists in the planning, marketing, and execution of all wellness activities such as monthly wellness gathering, bi-weekly pop-up-teas, monthly massages, yoga, Wellness Week, Winter Recharge, Stress Less week and other wellness activities
  • Manages the reservation process for all wellness workshops and activities
  • Provides information and assistance to students and visitors to Student Wellness Advising office

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements

  • Knowledge and skills typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in health education or related field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two years of full-time professional experience in student activities, health promotions environment or related college student affairs experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience with, and sensitivity to, individuals of diverse cultural background and a commitment to a diverse community
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge with advanced Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data management and digital systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a higher education setting strongly preferred

  • Ability to work in a highly trafficked space with multiple interruptions

  • Experience working with a multicultural community would be helpful

  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy of data and maintain focus

  • Ability to always maintain professionalism and to use sensitivity in dealing with person and confidential information

  • Some evening and weekend work is required due to special events

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

  • This is a hybrid position, with the expectation to be on campus in Boston 3 days a week
  • Some night and weekend commitments for student events


Pay Range

Minimum $25.80, Midpoint $30.95, Maximum $36.10
 

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
