Advises and supports a diverse portfolio of student organizations. For the assigned organizations, this could include, but is not limited to, offering programming advice and assistance, mentoring organizational leadership, attending organizational meetings and events, assessing organizational risk and ensuring compliance with University policy, developing training opportunities and materials, promoting financial competency through fiscal management accountability and skills development, and providing connection to campus resources.
Advises multiple components of the UChicago Student Government, including the Student Government Funding Committee, Program Coordinating Council, and the Council on Academic Teams. Serves as a steward of University resources and work with students to ensure that all policies and procedures are observed.
Plans and organizes the Blueprint event, an orientation program aimed at introducing first year students to involvement opportunities on campus. This includes: working with campus partners and Student Government on coordinating event logistics and marketing, outside vendors on event specifics, and student organizations on participation.
Plans and organizes the annual Winter Welcome, the Winter Quarter RSO Fair. Coordinates with over 100 student organizations to participate. Work with campus partners on event logistics and marketing for the event that brings between 800-1000 attendees.
Serves as a member of the CLI team and assist with various office programs and projects. This includes attending and monitoring major CLI and the University events; and other duties as assigned.
Advises, supports, and recommends concepts for programming to leaders of various organizations and programs.
Communicates and discusses contract terms with outside vendors. Administers contracts. Maintains organizational records and archives relevant information and program materials. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Bachelorâ™s degree in liberal arts field.
Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or student personnel.
Experience:
Demonstrated success in working with diverse and complex student organizations.
Experience in organizational bookkeeping or budget management.
A minimum of one year of experience managing projects or programs.
Event planning experience.
Experience in working with students and advising student organizations in a student affairs or student life environment.Â
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and conflict resolution techniques.
Prior experience in the preparation and presentation of workshops.
