Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (SVCSA), the Administrative Assistant provides the day-to-day administrative support to the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Examples of the activities will include, and are not limited to:
Provide the coordination and implementation of the calendar; coordination of various meetings for a variety of stakeholders; and the shopper for purchasing system;
Reserve rooms; order catering; and coordinate transportation and travel;
Maintain office technology; the coordination of all front desk functions, and general administrative support for the SVCSA and the Assistant Vice Chancellor/Dean of Students (AVC/DOS);
Provide administrative support for various working groups and functions within the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor;
Provide administrative support for major divisional events i.e., annual staff retreat, Orientation, Commencement, Convocation, and other special events;
Assist with the administrative and support functions for special projects, and expect that these will change from year-to-year.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
