Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is currently seeking a Secretary II for the Office of Student Affairs. Under direct supervision of the Executive Assistant of the Vice Dean, the Secretary II shares administrative responsibilities for the operation of the Offices of Student Affairs and Diversity and Inclusion. Assists with the coordination of all programs run under the auspices of these areas.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Maintains the schedules and sets up appointments with students, course directors, faculty, etc.
Monitors project deadlines and ensures those deadlines are met.
Provides administrative and operational support in the development and implementation of a variety of school-wide programs.
Provides interdepartmental coverage (Offices of Academic Affairs, Vice Dean and Dean) when needed for phone coverage, proctoring, specialized programs, and events.
Assists with general student services and telephones in the Office of Student Affairs.
Greets students, faculty and visitors to the offices.
Serves as a first point-of-contact for visitors and their questions.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies plus three (3) years of full-time secretarial experience required.
An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program.
College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience.
Up to sixty (60) credits may be substituted for two years of secretarial experience.
