The Cardiovascular Perfusion position is an FTE position reporting to the Cardiovascular Perfusion Program Director. Fundamentally, the position supports the Program Director in all areas for program development both didactic and clinical.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Program Director (PD) to ensure compliance with CAAHEP standards.
Work together with PD and Clinical Coordinator (CC) to identify areas of improvement.
Participate in interview and the admissions process.
Join in the Interprofessional Education Committee.
Assist in the development of CPB/ECMO high fidelity simulation.
Work with student development in cardiopulmonary bypass in the simulation laboratory.
Participate in didactic education of students.
Partake in the Program Advisory Committee.
Work in conjunction with PD and CC with clinical affiliation development.
Research and determine best clinical sites for student rotations.
Oversee contract process between clinical sites and Lipscomb legal counsel, including back and forth of contract negotiations.
Conduct clinical site visits to establish relationships with the program and assist in potential problems arising from student participation.
Work with PD and Student Affairs Manager to promote educational excellence.
Prepare clinical evaluation assessment tools.
Integrate assessment tool into program web-based platform.
Collaborate with PD concerning areas of program development.
Support teaching, scholarship, and service goals of the program.
Assist with special projects or initiatives as identified and/or needed.
Participate in events providing exposure and insight to the program.
Participate in clinical training and/or attend professional development as necessary to stay currentwith perfusion technology and methodology.
