Description Leads the planning, coordination, and implementation of visits by prospective families to the Colleges. This assistant director will be involved in a full range of on-campus admission responsibilities including daily interaction with campus visitors, oversight of student workers, on-campus programming, and scheduling visits.
Essential Responsibilities:
Welcome daily guests to campus and distribute appropriate material with a commitment to strong customer service.
Coordination of daily HWS Preview Visits, including tours, info sessions, interviews, and other requests.
Coordinate on-campus hosting program. Oversee Senior interns who assist in the scheduling of prospective student day and overnight visits to campus.
Assist associate director assigned to on campus program(s) and Alumni/ae Volunteer Network.
Organize and assist in training student assistants. Create work-shift schedules, oversee the day-to-day management of all student workers, and manage student worker payroll.
Develop a liaison program with various student organizations, clubs, and groups.
Assist in the preparation of functional office reports.
Maintain visit log and provide regular reports of numbers and types of visits.
Maintain admissions building appearance, inventory of necessary admissions supplies/materials and provide monthly inventory updates.
Develop knowledge of campus offices, the Geneva area, and the greater Finger Lakes Region.
Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances.
Demonstrate knowledge for the Colleges' educational philosophy and mission.
Performs other related duties as required.
Other Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible position. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the academic year, with a possible shortened workweek during the scheduled summer hours' time period. Additional hours, including Saturdays, may be required on occasion.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required. 1-2 years of college admission recruitment or 1-3 years of customer service experience preferred.
Highly organized and able to work under certain degrees of pressure.
Must possess superb written and oral communication skills, computer skills, familiarity with the Internet, a high level of energy, and a lively imagination.
Knowledge of enrollment systems applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint helpful.
Must be able to work with and maintain extremely confidential and sensitive information.
The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
