The Associate Dean for Off-Campus Commons implements programs and services for students living in the off-campus commons. In addition, the Associate Dean assists with the development and implementation of civic engagement and community service opportunities that enhance student leadership, academic, and professional goals.

Candidates are required to have:

• Master’s Degree in student personnel, higher education administration, or counseling or related area.
• Five (5) years of relevant experience in higher education administration with 3 years of experience directly working with commuter and/or off-campus students
• Experience in program planning, facility management, budget development, and assessment
(A relevant combination of education, training and directly related experience may be substituted for degree)

• Knowledge and understanding of commuter students and services, and national best practices
• Demonstrated understanding of student and identity development theory and ability to apply constructs in programming
• Experience in development of programs and services for off-campus or commuter services
• Experience responding appropriately to student concerns and manage student issues
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to work in fast paced, rapidly changing environment
• Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
