The Residential Case Manager is a full-time professional staff member of the Department of Residential Living responsible for supporting residential students. The Residential Case Manager will provide support and assistance to all residential students. Principal duties include residential education, community development, crisis management, administration, summer operations, and other departmental / university-wide responsibilities. Because the Residential Case Manager’s primary role is to be available in the residence halls for student contact, a desire to spend evening and weekend time with students is required. The Assistant Director for Academic Initiatives supervises the Residential Case Manager.
Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Education, Human Services, or related field. Minimum one (1) to three (3) years experience coordinating student learning activities in a higher education environment. Understanding of student retention issues, programs, policies, etc. Outstanding organizational, planning, communication, training, and interpersonal skills. Experience working with at-risk students.
Preferred Requirements: Experience enhancing students’ academic achievement though teaching classes or working with academic enhancement programs, living-learning communities and faculty strongly preferred. Minimum one (1) to three (3) years live-in experience managing a residence hall. Experience responding to crisis and emergency situations in a residential setting.
