The University of South Carolina has an opening for its Peer Consultant Manager position in the Student Success Center (SSC). The Peer Consultant Manager will support, manage and provide leadership for a team of Peer Consultants who (1) conduct outreach to populations of students and (2) promote positive academic/financial decision making and skill development via Success Consultations and Money Management Consultations. Additionally, this position will oversee the Student Success Call Center and Gamecock School Supplies initiative.
The Peer Consultant Manager is a highly collaborative position that plays a critical role in advancing student learning, retention and degree completion.
Position Duties:
40% supervising, mentoring, and leadership development of 1 Graduate Assistant and ~40 Peer Consultants
30% ongoing program service development, including the consultation curriculums, Student Success Call Center, and Gamecock School Supplies initiative
15% conducting assessment on program usage and effectiveness
10% supporting the comprehensive nature of the SSC by facilitating workshops & representing the SSC at campus events
5% conducting other duties as assigned
The minimum qualifications for the Manager of Peer Consultants position is bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
The preferred qualifications are master's degree and 1 year of experience.
