Required Education:
The Residential Education Coordinator (REC) is a full-time professional, live-on position within University Residences with a 12-month apartment and board plan. Responsibilities include: developing strong, inclusive residential communities with a curricular approach; forming relationships with individual students, faculty and staff; coaching and supervising student staff; mentoring and advising student organization leaders and participants; leading residence operations in a way that creates and maintains a positive, intercultural, community; fostering an atmosphere of respect for individual differences and community values; adjudicating conduct cases; and encouraging student learning, academic success, and co-curricular participation. RECs facilitate and develop a nurturing residential community through interaction with students, and response to sensitive issues daily and in an on-call capacity in an effort to foster a supportive environment for a highly diverse population.
Preferred:
One year of experience in Residential Life or Student Affairs.
A demonstrated commitment to student learning; experience working with faculty; experience developing or working with a curriculum; ability to provide an example of collaborative programmatic efforts.
Residence Education Coordinator:
Master's degree in Higher Education or related field.
One year professional work experience. Graduate experience would count towards the minimum.
Residence Education Coordinator, Associate:
Bachelor’s Degree
One year of experience in Residential Life of Student Affairs
