The Coordinator of Student Activities is responsible for overseeing programs and services focused on advancing student engagement through campus activities, student organizations, extended-orientation program, and social media. This position reports to the Director of Residential and Campus Life.
Recognized Student Organization Management (25%)
Manage annual student organization recognition program to ensure students and advisors have knowledge and resources of university expectations and policies. This includes, but not limited to, officer leadership training, organization constitution review, risk management education and other relevant requirements.
Primary administrator of Canes Connect, GSW’s online organization management system, ensure Canes Connect is up-to-date with information, promote use, generate usage reports.
Maintain accurate records of RSO status and contact information.
Primary adviser to Student Engagement Team (SET) (25%)
Provide guidance and support to campus activities programming board, SET.
Manage program budget.
Attend planning meetings and events.
Ensure programs are communicated and marketed to key stakeholders.
Assess programs for continuation and improvement.
University sponsored programs and events. (20%)
Primary advisor to Thunder Camp, GSW’s extended orientation camp.
Assists with development and implementation of department sponsored programs.
Serve as point of contact in planning and partnering university sponsored events focused on student engagement.
Advise student committees responsible for themed weeks – Welcome Week, Homecoming, Blue and Gold Week, Student Appreciation.
Partner with Athletics Department on building game day experience and student attendance.
Oversee student social media marketing team, DROP. (10%)
Supervise student employees and volunteers in DROP
Manage department social media.
Provide direction and training to DROP on marketing priorities.
Recognition Programs (10%)
Plan and implement student and student organization recognition programs that promote engagement, school pride, leadership, service, and other applicable priorities.
Coordinate student awards banquet.
Assist colleagues with student recognition efforts.
Department Initiatives (5%)
Assists with development and implementation of new department initiatives focused on advancing student engagement and success.
Serve as student organization advisor as needed.
Partner with Athletics Department on building game day experience and student attendance.
Performs a variety of related duties. (5%)
May serve as investigator for student conduct or Title IX cases.
Participates on University and division committees and task forces.
