Campus Life at UMBC is seeking a Coordinator for Student Events Board responsible for advising the Student Events Board, supervising student staff, collaborating with campus departments around late-night weekend programming and managing the day-to-day activities of the Student Events Board (seb).

In addition to the logistics of event planning, this position has a large focus on the overall development of the seb team. This role also serves as a support position and implements departmental and campus wide events. The Coordinator is an integral part of Campus Life, representing the department at a variety of events, collaborating across campus and serving as a resource to the University community for event management.

The ideal candidate will understand and work through the balance of both advising and supervising paid student employees, while providing a robust leadership experience for participants. The Coordinator is a part of the Student Engagement team, helping to create a vibrant campus experience for students, which will include various other duties as assigned. 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• One year of experience in Student Affairs
• Previous experience with student organization advising and support and large-scale event planning
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Higher Education or a related field
• Direct work experience advising or co-advising with a named campus programming board
• Displayed knowledge of college student development principles
• Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse student population
