Conduct the daily management and operation of 1-6 residence halls. Assist the Director of Residence Life in the coordination of community standards, administrative, maintenance, and programming responsibilities for a residential community which may include but not limited to living-learning communities and facilitation of a residential curriculum model. Supervise a student staff of 7-21, consisting of Senior Resident Assistants and Resident Assistants (RAs). Participate in student behavioral interventions; provide on-call coverage; facilitate residence hall programming efforts; support student leadership development including advising hall councils; and assist with student staff selection, training, and evaluation. Respond independently to emergency situations and coordinate departmental responses. Responsible for supporting and engaging with retention initiatives and student experience assessment and evaluation. Bachelor’s degree
One academic year of professional experience in a residence hall setting or student affairs related experience
Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, including oral and written communication
Experience that demonstrates an understanding of living-learning communities and/or other co-curricular programs- Evidence of ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds including but not limited to a focus on equity and justice and the ability to foster communities that supports diversity
Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences
OR any combination of education and/or experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
