Direct and coordinate strategic recruitment of new students by specific population as assigned by the Director of Admissions. Develop a qualified inquiry pool and implement a flow of strategic communications to prospective students. Manage recruiting, reporting and research efforts; serve on the management team to lead the staff development and training regarding policies, procedures and best practices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, lead and engage in strategic planning activities to recruit and enroll new students. Develop and implement operations, policies and procedures and admission guidelines. Supervise professional and clerical staff. Serve as a resource to staff, providing direction on policies and procedures and resolving problems. Participate in department meetings and functions; serve as liaison with other departments. Conduct admissions research and data analysis regarding new student recruitment and enrollment of new students per population assigned. Prepare reports and analyses of admissions activities and results. Oversee the recruitment travel schedule. Oversee various recruiting activities and projects. Coordinate and deliver new and ongoing staff training. Oversee the planning & execution of all on- and off-campus recruitment events and activities. Manage territory assignments and recruitment strategy for undergraduate students. Work to develop strategic recruitment plans with targeted enrollment outcomes. Consistently evaluate & audit admissions processes for efficiency. Manage, maintain, and uphold admissions policies and procedures. Manage a small recruitment territory; including, but not limited to, representing EMU at off-campus recruitment events and advising prospective students/families. Serve as primary end-user to maintain and improve CRM System.Work with systems team to continue to evaluate and implement new technologies which will give EMU a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures. Perform related department duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public relations, training/development, student affairs, counseling, business administration, educational leadership, or related field is required. Master level degree preferred. Five years of administrative experience in admissions, or related field, is required. Demonstrated experience managing an operation is required. Strategic planning skills are necessary. Demonstrated public speaking and writing skills are necessary. Experience in human resources management, including staffing, training, supervising, evaluating and directing the work of employees is desirable. Experience working with student information systems and web-based recruiting initiatives is necessary. Knowledge of EMU's academic programs, and experience with diverse student populations. Ability to speak a second language is desirable. Experience with graduate, non-traditional, and international students is preferred.
