Job Summary: | This position is part of the University Health Services (UHS) Budget and Finance Team.
-Team duties include: -General accounting, billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable in the Division of University Health Services (UHS). -This position is a backup of our Fin Spe III staff on other job duties. -This position requires understanding UW policies on the Pcard Expense Report, updating our presentation, and helping train our UHS internal staff on PD fund, Pcard, and Expense report. -This position requires the ability to collect and analyze financial data and to pay close attention to detail. It requires initiative in the timely and accurate preparation and processing of the departmental reports. -Great organizational skills, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills are expected. |
Responsibilities: | Primarily reviews, approves, and advises on a variety of advanced financial transactions. May prepare some financial transactions and reconciles transactions. Recommends controls and process improvements, troubleshoots advanced financial errors. Maintains financial records, provides administrative processing support, and provides customer service for staff and customers in an assigned program area to support program financial management. - 10% Audits, monitors, organizes, and updates fiscal records, reports, and affiliated materials
- 10% Creates general reporting for transactions
- 20% Audits or processes advanced transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies
- 10% Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments
- 10% Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings
- 15% Drafts communications and advanced reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit
- 10% Answers advanced fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences
- 15% Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures

Qualifications: | Required: -1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related role -Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, and ability to learn new systems -Ability to work independently, prioritize work duties, and demonstrate effective time management Requirto meet deadlines
Preferred: -Experience with UW departments cards/purchasing cards site manager/approver, Shop@UW/ Purchasing process, and UW expense reimbursements |
