The Wisconsin Union's Union South building is looking for a new restaurant manager to lead the Ginger Root, Harvest Grains and South Cantina (Kiosks) team. The position is responsible for overall management of the three units, sales, customer satisfaction and food safety. The estimated annual sales volume is $2.25 million. Success in this role requires ability to multitask, excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Responsibilities:
Provides guidance for food service operations in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues, including financial and long term operational planning to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals.
20% Provides operational guidance for food service activities, identifies, develops, facilitates staff training opportunities, and/or supervises dining staff
15% Plans and directs staff implementation of operating policies and procedures to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures
15% Monitors the unit budget and approves expenditures
25% Tracks and forecasts inventory levels and places replenishment orders
15% Directs and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
10% Develops staff resources, menus, and communication plans based on established goals

Qualifications:
Required: - 1+ years minimum working in an operation serving alcohol - Success in leading teams of 20+ employees - Ability to multitask - Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred: - 2+ years of fast paced General Manager experience - Supervision and oversight of operations
License/Certification:
Required ServSafe Certification Able to obtain within 6 months
Required Valid Bartender License Able to obtain within 6 months

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Position does not currently include nights and weekends, other than 7 Saturdays per year during football season for Badger Bashes.
