Program Coordinator, Student Organizations (Cocurricular Programs Coordinator 3)

Penn State Student Leadership & Involvement is seeking applicants for the Program Coordinator of Student Organizations position (Cocurricular Programs Coordinator 3). The successful applicant will join a team of professionals, graduate assistants, and undergraduate staff. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to fostering exploration, community engagement, and the development of students as well as demonstrate strong facilitation, program planning, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Student Organizations, the Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, facilitating, and assessing student organization recognition processes through OrgCentral (Penn State's Anthology Engage platform for organizational management), student leadership training, and annual awards programs for the +1000 recognized student organizations at Penn State.

The Program coordinator will also serve as a program registration and contract advisor to student organizations sponsored programs and will co-advise the UPAC student organization funding committee allocations.

The ability to work effectively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds and experiences is critical to the success of the Student Leadership & Involvement team and this role. The successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of student development, communicate effectively and have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.


Education and Experience:

• Typically requires a Master's degree or higher and 1+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years of related graduate assistantship qualifies as equivalent.

This position may require that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks. A willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support night and weekend activities is required.
