Licensed Therapist, Counseling Center

The Counseling Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago is expanding and currently hiring for multiple full-time openings for Licensed Therapists to join our dynamic, diverse, and social-justice oriented staff. The Counseling Center is the main provider of mental health services on campus and provides comprehensive psychological services to eligible students including evaluation, counseling, outreach, consultation, and referral. We offer individual, relationship/couples, and group therapies, skills-based workshops including mind/body programming, and an integrative model of psychiatric care. We have a strong commitment to training through our APA-accredited internship, advanced therapy externship, postdoctoral fellowship, and student paraprofessional training programs. Our services are confidential and funded by students' health services fee, resulting in service provision at no additional charge for currently enrolled students.

The Counseling Center staff includes licensed psychologists and crisis counselors, a board-certified psychiatrist, case managers, doctoral interns and externs, postdoctoral psychology residents, and trained paraprofessionals. We are committed to addressing structural racism and cultivating cultural humility in our work. We are committed to the highest standards of competency in meeting the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including differences of culture, race, ethnicity, national origin, class, gender identity, gender expression, ability, age, body size, immigrant status, and sexual orientation. This involves continuing and expanding the work of: 1) fostering connections for students to mental health services and supports, 2) creating new spaces and programs that support mental health and well-being, and 3) assisting with training and education on mental health topics. Position(s) also may require some evening hours and occasional weekend duties.

Maintain ethical, legal, organizational standards, and multicultural competency in all training, service,
and research activities.

Staff Management: Supervise work as assigned to unlicensed master's clinical staff, postdoctoral and pre-doctoral trainees to ensure that service and training objectives are met. Help select, train, develop, and manage said persons to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants with past experience in a university counseling center, facilitating groups and outreach, and/or supervision of master's and/or doctoral level psychology graduate students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary range: Commensurate with experience; includes comprehensive benefits as Academic Professional staff.
