Our Wisconsin School of Business Student Affairs Program Specialist will be focused on providing student services and associated support to incoming students in the Masters of Business: Data, Insights, and Analytics (MSDIA) program, faculty, and staff. This position will be a part of the MBA & Master's Program Office and will work in collaboration with a number of team members to help administer the MSDIA program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a desire to participate in a team setting and cultural competency in working effectively with a diverse group of students and staff. The individual in the role will become on expert on the EdX platform and will advise and coach students on the platform.
Additionally, the person in this role will be responsible for: - Advising students in the MSDIA program. This will include tracking degree progress, following up with students regarding course progress, and working to aid in overall retention efforts; - Developing expertise on the EdX Platform to coach students on the platform; - Managing the Credit by Exam Process for MSDIA students as they enter the program; - Managing student access to software tools, such as AWS and Snowflake, which they will use within their EdX courses; - Organizing virtual speaker series and other events for students on the EdX platform; - Managing the expenses and invoices for our work on the EdX platform; - Communicating with students via the MSDIA inbox and following up with individuals on inquiries; - Create and distribute marketing activities for the MSDIA program that supports program growth; - Supporting the measurement of the programs learning goals that align with the AASB standards; - Developing a Program Handbook that aligns with the Wisconsin School of Business and UW-Madison's Graduate School policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Provides subject matter expertise in the development and execution of programs within the scope of student learning and development. Organizes the facilitation and development of curriculum design for on-going and new educational initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
30% Creates and maintains schedules, logistics, and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services
25% Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
10% Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
5% Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
10% Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
5% Manages the expenses and invoices for our work on the edX platform.
15% Assists with providing basic training and technical support to learners in settings such as classrooms, and distance learning technology tools and platforms.

Required Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:
Required: - Minimum of one year professional work experience - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Technical expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular skill in MS Excel and Outlook
