POSITION OVERVIEW
Independently responsible to coordinate the complex process of providing resident services, meeting space allocations, and other neighborhood support services for on and off-campus users throughout the calendar year. Responsible to assist supervisor in coordination, as needed, of all facets of North Torrey Pines Living Learning Hospitality Information. Provide high-level administrative support on a wide variety of complex and sensitive issues. Make operational decisions in absence of supervisor. Supervise, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline office student staff as related to these programs. Responsible to keep accurate records and provide reports relating to assigned Program. Utilization of database systems, word processing, e-mail and spreadsheet software related to Conference Services including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Ability to work independently with changing priorities and frequent interruptions.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Housing Dining Hospitality (HDH) is a self-funded, large and complex campus department consisting of 8 divisions, with over 900 career employees, 1000 to 1200 student employees and an annual operating budget greater than $250 million. HDH provides housing for approximately 18,000 undergraduates, grad students, faculty, staff and their families in over 400 buildings covering over 8 million sq. ft. HDH is in the midst of implementing an aggressive building plan which added 10,000 new beds in the next 10 years and will almost double our square footage by 2032.
Currently, HDH houses 42% of UCSD's enrolled students with a goal of housing 65% by 2032. HDH provides maintenance and repair, contract meals/meal plan management, as well as retail food service, conference services and catering services to residents, students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in higher education student housing, property management or extended/overnight stay environment. Ability to arrange housing logistics such as room reservations, emergency accommodations, move-ins, etc.
Strong ability to exercise tact, mature judgment, confidentiality, diplomacy and flexibility to promote positive working relationships and job effectiveness.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, including knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, punctuation and usage.
Proven ability to work independently and to compile and analyze data, independently perform moderately complex administrative duties on a regular basis, etc.
Strong skill to conceptualize, organize, and arrange medium to large term administrative or housing related projects.
Proficient ability to use Microsoft Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Publisher and Outlook)
Strong creative and analytical skills to provide solutions which address issues within all functional areas of responsibility.
Skill and ability to analyze, plan, develop, coordinate and implement office systems to ensure efficient operation. Proven ability to organize a continuous flow of work in a timely manner while meeting deadlines and with close attention to detail.
Demonstrated effectiveness as a facilitator in promoting effective communication with individuals and groups.
Effective interpersonal skills in communicating with individuals and groups of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and in working with staff at all levels in an academic environment or large organization. Proven customer service and customer relations experience.
Skill in managing projects by planning, organizing, prioritizing, and monitoring work for the purposes of delivering a specific output.
