Job Duties:

Teach college classes in International Programs first-year undergraduate seminar on Studying, Living, and Working in a Global Environment; develop curriculum; present classroom lectures;

Teach sessions in Building Our Global Community certificate program; develop curriculum; present classroom lectures;

Lead classes or community events to support, develop and promote International Education Program, focusing on international student support and retention, integrating international students into student life, and fostering international student leadership;

Develop educational programs to support, develop and promote International Education Program;

Engage in regional and national efforts to promote International Education Programs;

Present educational programming or training on building core competencies in postsecondary international programs both to campus constituencies and to regional or national professional audiences;

Plan and conduct orientation programs and group conferences to promote the adjustment of international students to college life;

Attend meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops, and serve on committees relevant to International Education Program;

Plan, direct, and participate in recruitment and retention activities relevant to International Education Program;

Develop educational programs and build sustainable support structure to help international students navigate and be successful the U.S. higher education environment, including but not limited to informational and educational programs, extra- and co-curricular activities, peer-counseling/peer-mentoring/peer-tutoring programs

Sponsor extracurricular activities, such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests for international students;

Develop working relationships with complementary offices within University and extramural partners to facilitate International Education Program objectives and activities;

Participate in development and implementation of metrics to evaluate success of International Education Program;

Provide direct programmatic support for recruitment and retention of international students from China and southeast Asia; develop relationships, foster student involvement, and provide leadership development for identified international student population.

Job Requirements:
Masters Degree in International Studies, Higher Education/Student Affairs, or Education Counseling.

Three years experience in post-secondary international education programs;

Training in international student advising or counseling;

Fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese sufficient to serve identified international student population. Fluency or working proficiency in other Asian languages desired.

Extensive proficiency in creating/providing intercultural programming, student support and retention, and knowledge of student development in a higher education setting.

Extensive experience with standard office computer applications, software for webinar production, and data management/statistical assessment.

Extensive proficiency in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Extensive experience in organizing and leading presentations in a higher education academic setting.
