Position Summary:

Yeshiva University seeks a part-time Medical Consultant to help guide Yeshiva University's policies and procedures regarding the health of the YU community. The Medical Consultant's commitment to YU will be 8-15 hours per month, in accordance with the University's needs and the doctor's availability. The consulting work will primarily be remote.

Position Responsibilities:

The Medical Consultant will be responsible to:

• Help guide YU's policies and procedures about community-wide health issues including COVID-19 vaccination and booster policies and other community-wide immunization policies, as they may arise.
• Review and advise on staff and student requests for medical exemptions to YU's COVID policies.
• Help coordinate the medical response to possible outbreaks on campus and/or in the NY region.
• Review and advise on YU's current student immunization requirements and respond to questions from health services which may arise regarding a particular student's immunization history or lab work.
• Help YU's Residence Life programs determine how to best care for ill students, and help design quarantine, isolation, and return to school protocols, as required.
• Review and advise on current tele-health availability for students.
• Assist Human Resources (HR) with managing staff return to work protocols.
• Assist HR and Student Disability Support teams in reviewing requests for employment and school related accommodations, consistent with ADA compliance. This may include follow-up with an employee's or student's physician regarding requested accommodations.
• Respond to questions from YU's senior administrative staff on all health-related issues.
• Other issues related to the health and well-being of the YU community, as assigned.
• This position will NOT require providing specific medical treatment or physically examining any student or staff member.

Experience & Education Background:

• An MD or DO degree is required, with appropriate NYS licensure and minimum of 5 years of practice.

Salary Range:

$170 - $175 per hour
