This position is responsible for coordinating and managing all activities of the Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry Graduate Program (MCBGP), which is an interdepartmental program involving multiple departments at Brown University. Provides administrative, organizational, and financial coordination for the MCB Graduate Program. Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external program constituencies. Constituencies include students, faculty, alumni, and visitors. Maintains the MCBGP website, manages all recruitment activities, manages the admissions process, manages the MCBGP weekly seminar series, manages all administrative systems and records for MCBGP, & provides overall support for the MCBGP. The program coordinator also provides support for training grants that support graduate training that originate from MCB; responsibilities include support for preparation of annual progress reports and competitive applications, and coordination of efforts to assess effectiveness of training initiatives including those to enhance mentorship, diversity, equity, and inclusion. These and other tasks will be prioritized at weekly meetings with the Graduate Program Directors.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
⢠Required: Bachelorâ™s Degree with 2-4 years of administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. ⢠Proven project management skills preferred. ⢠Experience in student services is preferred.
⢠Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint), Google docs, sheets, & calendar, and in FileMaker. ⢠Previous experience in an academic or research environment preferred.
