The Senior Associate Director of Strategic Planning & Programs is a full-time employee under the direct supervision of the Director of University Recreation & Wellbeing. This role is a key decision maker, both in long-range strategic planning, assessment strategies, and the allocation of resources for the organization. This position provides leadership to two Associate Directors who have oversight of the Wellbeing, Nutrition Education, Athletic Training, Intramural Sports, Fitness, Experiential Education, and Inclusion, Clubs & Community Programs departments which comprise most major programming and service areas within the Division.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides administrative oversight of recreational programming and provides leadership and direction in support of the mission, vision, and goals of the work unit. Participates in planning that contributes to student development.
20% Establishes and implements short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for recreational programming and monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness
15% Develops, leads and monitors work unit programs and associated budgets
15% Promotes awareness of recreational policies and information and develops programs and forms strong networks with various organizations, departments, and programming committees
10% Serves as a liaison and represents recreational programming to executive leadership and other internal and external entities, serves on campus-wide committees
20% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
20% Serves as the lead assessment strategist by establishing goals and recommending, implementing, and administering methods and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency

Qualifications:
A minimum of 7 years of full-time professional experience that includes a broad range of recreation programs and services, wellness offerings, and strategic planning.
Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills are essential to the successful candidate.
Demonstrated achievement in diversity and inclusion goals and a commitment to enhancing multicultural understanding in a diverse campus environment.
A minimum of 5 years supervising full-time professional staff is preferred.
