INDIANA MEMORIAL UNION (BA-IMAU-IUBLA)

The Division of Student Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington serves all 43,000 undergraduate and graduate students. We are a team of 500+ faculty, staff, and students within 18 departments and programs located across campus working toward the common goal of student success.

The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) has been the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus for more than 100 years. Every day thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests enjoy the many amenities and opportunities the IMU has to offer.

The Student Involvement and Leadership Center (SILC) is located at three prominent locations on campus--the Indiana Memorial Union, Eigenmann Hall (IU Outdoor Adventures), and Campus View Apartments (Crimson Cupboard). SILC staff work to foster growth and learning among students and student organizations by supporting inclusive and engaging experiences through the creation and execution of co-curricular programs and services.

Department Specific Responsibilities

• Supports the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Indiana Memorial Union programs that include the weekly Late Nite series, holiday recognition, campus programs like Thank a Donor Day and Family Weekend, and other programming like Election Day events, etc.
• Manages Late Nite, a weekly Friday series comprised of musicians, entertainment, DIY crafts, novelties, comedians, and bowling planned for Indiana University students and guests.
• Collects entertainment resources, decorate IMU, staff information tables, and be present at weekly Friday programs.
• Works in cooperation with other Indiana Memorial Union departments and Union Board.
• Managers share responsibilities focusing on marketing and outreach and planning and logistical coordination.
• Leads 30 minute bi-weekly staff meetings where event assistants learn about the upcoming programs.
• Attends a semester evaluation with the Program Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Superior customer service skills
• Ability to interact with a diverse population
• Familiarity with the campus and Indiana Memorial Union in order to give directions
• Should be detail-oriented, creative and a self-starter

Some moving of objects and flexibility to work a range of activities is required.
