The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) has been the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus for more than 100 years. Every day thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests enjoy the many amenities and opportunities the IMU has to offer.

The Student Involvement and Leadership Center (SILC) is located at 3 prominent locations on campus--the Indiana Memorial Union, Eigenmann Hall (IU Outdoor Adventures), and Campus View Apartments (Crimson Cupboard). SILC staff work to foster growth and learning among students and student organizations by supporting inclusive and engaging experiences through the creation and execution of co-curricular programs and services.

The Student Involvement and Leadership Center Office Assistant position provides vital front desk and administrative support for the SILC team. They are often the first impression a student, staff, alumni or community member has of our office.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Responsible for answering phone calls, overseeing departmental email account, handling all tower office requests including keys, and coordinating the delivery of all mail to the department and student organizations.
• Assists in the tracking and uploading of all p-card receipts for the department and departmental USO accounts.
• Oversees the ordering of all departmental Amazon orders.
• Performs various research projects.
• Performs other office tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION

Required

• Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

• 1 year experience working in a customer service role

SKILLS

Required

• Strong attention to detail
• Outstanding organization skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
• Excellent customer service skills

Preferred

• Experience working in an office
• Working knowledge of IU systems and policies and procedures
• Excellent communication skills using a variety of mediums
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
