The Office of Donor Relations fosters positive and enduring relationships with donors built on trust and accountability through activities that acknowledge, recognize, and report on gifts, and engage donors in the life of the university. The Senior Associate Director of Stewardship reports to the Director of Gift Administration and Stewardship and is responsible for leading university-wide stewardship of scholarship and fellowships, as well as other funds.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the lead on stewarding university-wide scholarships, including matching scholarships, surveying students, developing an orientation program for students, working with Student Affairs to steward signature scholarships such as the Enterprise Holdings Scholarship Program and Danforth Scholars Program.
Work with the Director of Gift Administration and Stewardship, develop and implement strategies for centralizing stewardship processes across the university for fund categories including, but not limited to, scholarships, professorships, and miscellaneous funds.
Assist in the creation and implementation of new policies, protocols and trainings to ensure proper stewardship of funds and implementation of donorâ™s philanthropic intent.
Supervise a team of up to two staff members that are responsible for stewarding donors, tracking scholarships and professorships, and obtaining content for impact reports.
Work with the Director of Gift Administration and Stewardship and other members of the Gift Administration and Stewardship team to collect data and produce impact and financial reports for donors. Perform other duties as assigned.
Professional with extensive knowledge of institutional development, donor relations, and stewardship.
Experience managing organizational change and facilitating consensus across departments.
Demonstrate aptitude for collecting data relevant to analyzing fund utilization and philanthropic impact.
Experience in identifying, gathering, and analyzing data on fund administration and impacts to support production of development materials and publications.
Proven track record of effectively working and leading in a large, complex, dynamic and sophisticated organization.
Experience building teams and/or supervising staff.
Experience in analysis and reporting.
Ability to work across units and build effective working relationships to manage change processes among diverse stakeholders in a complex university environment.
Ability to distill processes and procedures into clear, understandable written documents and effectively communicate changes to stakeholders.
Wide-ranging knowledge of academic units, current affairs in higher education, and research, as well as genuine interest in the ongoing affairs at the university and intellectual curiosity.
Ability to interview and elicit information from students, faculty and administrators and convey in written form their research/work in a manner that is accessible and compelling to individuals outside of academia.
Minimum of three to five years of related experience.
$63,900.00 - $109,100.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
