Position Summary:
The Director will lead YU's ongoing efforts to improve student success, retention, and individual student support. The Director oversees and supports the Student Success technology platform, Starfish, and is responsible for the continued Starfish rollout across departments. The Director will work alongside academic advisers and student success coaches to implement best practice for student development and retention. The Director will be responsible for the individual case management of students at risk and implementing programming that improve success and retention. The Director will manage retention data and evaluate all student success programs for effectiveness in supporting student success goals.
Position Responsibilities:
Administers and manages all the daily operations of YU's student success technology platform, (Starfish), including routine support and troubleshooting for students, faculty, and staff; platform configuration and workflow customization; and data reporting.
Works closely with academic advisors and oversees student success coaches to ensure that all students receive the support they need and Starfish related activity is addressed in a timely and thorough fashion.
Oversees Office of Learning Success and student success coaches. Works closely with YU's support teams such as Office of Disability Services, the writing center and tutoring center to implement best practices for student support.
Integrates evidence-based practices into the development of retention initiatives. Implements and manages these retention initiatives (I.e., First Year Seminar, Starfish surveys) and evaluate programs for effectiveness in enhancing student success, experience and retention.
Works intentionally with Academic Affairs, Admissions, Enrollment Management, Registrar, and Student Life to advance best practices in student support, student experience and retention.
Develops and implements trainings for faculty, and staff on the use Starfish relevant to their position and needs.
Works closely with EAB to resolve Starfish technical issues, to monitor and test application functionality, and to plan for platform updates and the release of new features.
Manages retention data to observe trends and plan for policy or programmatic change to support student success and retention.
Chairs campus committees as required, including but not limited to, the Student Success and Retention Committee & Student Support Committee.
Monitors and reports on the ongoing execution of the Student Success and Experience Strategic Plan.
Other related duties as assigned.
Experience & Educational Background:
Master's degree in counseling, education, higher education administration, technology, business or related field.
7 or more years of experience in higher education with a focus on student success (preferred), or equivalent experience.

Salary Range:
$90,000-$90,000
