Establishes close working relationships with student organization leaders and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Convenes student leader roundtables and plans interactive workshops.
Provides support for student-led events and initiatives.
Meets with individual students on a regular basis, and works with office/center leadership to connect students to campus partners and escalates issues as appropriate.
Develops outreach plans to reach new students.
Maintains databases of campus and community resources.
Builds community and affinity through the use of our physical space at 5710 S. Woodlawn (i.e. study breaks/pop-ups, student art, library resources, technology updates, etc.).
Develops and supports a wide variety of Pre-Orientation and Orientation activities, including Campus Life Meetings, designed to welcome students to the University; assist with end-of-year celebrations.
Liase with student leaders/advisory councils across campus (i.e. Student Government, Resident Assistants, WellCzars, etc.).
Explores opportunities to raise the visibility of the Center and promote engagement.
Spreads the word about specific programs, resources, and initiatives.
Creates engaging web and social media content.
Coordinates with the students and staff to develop activities, programs, and initiatives related to student life, and/or community involvement. Develops and implements straightforward programming.
Advises, supports, and recommends concepts for programming to leaders of various organizations and programs.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Bachelorâ™s degree by start date.
University of Chicago alumni with educational background in cultural/ethnic studies, gender/sexuality studies, or related field.
Experience:
At least two years of co-curricular leadership experience and/or student employment experience in areas related to diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge of campus resources.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
