Job Summary:

 

The Miller Center for Student Disability Services Assistant Director is a member of the SDS leadership team. This position is responsible for implementing reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities and leading accessibility initiatives in collaboration with campus partners.

Duties/Physical Demands:

Oversees daily office operations in partnership with the Miller Center Director.

Assists the Miller Center Director with staff training and supervision, develops and implements disability accommodation procedures.

Maintains knowledge of disability law and accessibility best practices.

Serves on university committees and workgroups to promote disability access & inclusion.

Provides database administration for the Miller Center electronic case management system AIM (Accessible Information Management).

Oversees process to ensure advance planning of accessible course material for students with vision and hearing disabilities.

Provides ongoing case management and advocacy for approx. 250-500 registered students with disabilities.

Coordinates campus-wide programming to promote disability access and inclusion.

Responds to faculty inquiries regarding procedures and best practices for providing student accommodations, other duties as assigned.

Ability to engage with diverse individuals in a culturally conscious manner.
