Develop, coordinate, and implement programs and services in support of the academic and student life aspects of the Ithaca College Los Angeles Program (ICLA) in conjunction with the Program Director.
Coordinate the student affairs components of ICLA including student orientation, housing, activities, and programs. Coordinate the development and implementation of the credit-based internship program for ICLA students to include developing and coordinating internship opportunities and assisting students in identifying and applying for internships appropriate for their academic and career goals. Oversee the application process to the ICLA Program. Supervise student event assistants in the planning, development and implementation of programs and activities for students. Serve as the facilities manager of the James B. Pendleton Center and oversee its daily operations including maintaining technical equipment, monitoring budget expenditures, coordinating usage and scheduling of facilities, and performing general office duties.

Essential Duties:
Develop, coordinate, and implement services and programs in support of the academic and student life aspects of the Ithaca College Los Angeles Program in conjunction with the Director to include orientation, housing, residential life, and student activities and programs.
Serve as the primary contact for internship employers; coordinate the application process for prospective internship employers; research and secure new internships and serve as an information resource for new internship employers. Monitor and stay current with liability and legal issues surrounding internships.
Assist students in identifying internships appropriate to their academic and career goals; provide students with information on all available internship opportunities and new and updated listings of internships in Los Angeles. Oversee and maintain the on-line student internship database and the updating of student internship listings.
Assist students with the application process for internships; provide support and assistance for students with writing cover letters and resumes and filling out internship applications.
Provide assistance to the Pendleton Chair in the creation of industry-themed alumni panels for Media Industries course. Coordinate and schedule alumni. Create and distribute alumni professional biographies to current students. Track student attendance.
Serve as the facilities manager of the James B. Pendleton Center and oversee its daily operations and maintenance. Maintain technical equipment, monitor budget expenditures, coordinate usage and scheduling of facilities, and perform general office duties. Maintain the Pendleton Center supply and resource rooms.
Coordinate the planning, developing, and implementation of activities and programs for students enrolled in the Los Angeles Program.
Recruit, select, and train and supervise student event assistants and student workers; monitor work performance of student event assistants for accuracy and completeness in accordance with the goals and objectives of Ithaca College and ICLA.
Design, oversee and implement spring, summer and fall orientation sessions for students participating in the Los Angeles Program in conjunction with the Program Director and the Pendleton Chair to include the preparation and presentation of program materials and information to students and parents. Conduct student orientation in March and September as requested or needed.
Provide assistance to the Pendleton Chair in the creation of industry-themed alumni panels for Media Industries course. Coordinate and schedule alumni. Create and distribute alumni professional biographies to current students. Track student attendance.
Serve as a primary contact for emergency and other situations encountered by ICLA students in Kapi Housing and in other housing during non-business hours; develop and maintain a good working relationship with Kapi Housing; respond to safety and security issues involving Ithaca College students living in Kapi Housing. Provide timely notification to the Program Director of all incidents and/or contact the Director for immediate guidance and response in emergency situations.
Address all student concerns and needs in housing, transportation, educational environments, or other matters; resolve concerns in cooperation with the Program Director, appropriate local agencies or offices, and/or the Ithaca campus.
Serve as the liaison between Ithaca College and Kapi Housing and in regards to issues such as roommate assignments, facility maintenance, and student conduct.
Establish and maintain communication with students living in Kapi Housing through individual contacts, meetings, and discussions. Serve as a mediator/facilitator when necessary to provide resolutions for interpersonal conflicts between students.
Ensure students are aware of upcoming programs and events through timely and regular communication through email, social media, online calendar, flyers and personal interaction.
Assist in the design and coordination of the Los Angeles program application; participate in the selection process by reviewing and evaluating applications and making recommendations for admission into the Los Angeles Program.
Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills; ability to handle confidential information, establish priorities and meet deadlines; an in-depth knowledge of various word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications is required. Previous experience in a college/university setting and knowledge of the Los Angeles media industry is strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment. The incumbent will be required to use a personal computer and associated equipment as well as other office equipment used in the day-to-day operations.
Hiring Range: $45,896-$64,800 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
