The Study Abroad Center is looking to add two Study Abroad Advisors to its team!
Impact & Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include: recruits and provides individual and group advising to students regarding study abroad programs; provides individual and group advising to students regarding study abroad programs, registration, course approval, and academic transfer credit requirements; assists with the application process, enrollment, and preparation of students for study abroad; assists with the design and implementation of new and existing study abroad programs; monitors Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) reports on crime and safety abroad as well as US Department of State Travel Alerts daily and informs students of activity overseas when needed; maintains social media pages; creates, reviews, and edits publication materials both in print and digitally; and completes special projects as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree; excellent communication and customer service skills and experience working, studying, or traveling abroad.
Spring graduates will be considered. Degree must be conferred prior to start date. Student experience will also be considered.
Preferred: At least one year of experience in advising, recruiting, orientation, teaching, or student affairs related areas of higher education; experience with study abroad programs; experience working with students from different cultural backgrounds; experience with spreadsheets and desktop publishing software; and a working knowledge of at least one foreign language.
