Reporting to the Director of Residence Life within the Division of Student Affairs, the Associate Director is responsible for providing leadership and expertise for Residence Life operational, business and technology initiatives. The Associate Director will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Residence Life team to supervise and manage all aspects of housing assignments, residence life technology initiatives, marketing, residential facilities, and conference services.
The Associate Director will serve as a student-centered leader who is innovative, decisive, proactive and solution-oriented, contributing to the collective goals of the department with a lens to the operational needs. They will serve as the primary liaison to Facility Operations to coordinate all maintenance, health and safety, and custodial needs for the residential and dining areas which includes assisting in the planning for major and minor capital improvements.
A Master’s degree in Higher Education, Business Administration, Marketing, Technology or related field and a minimum of six years of experience with occupancy management, business operations and facility management are required. Additionally, the position requires a highly motivated and responsive person with the ability to work independently, excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating residential environments which support student learning and service delivery, engaging in regular supervision meetings, daily contact, and participation in department sponsored training and development opportunities. Knowledge and experience with web design, security systems, and Banner applications are strongly preferred, as is experience supervising professional and student staff. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
