The Towson University Counseling Center seeks to fill a Staff Psychologist position. This position will provide a range of clinical and counseling services to college students and provide expertise, programming, and training in their coordinated area. The role includes involvement with our doctoral internship and externship training programs including serving as a clinical supervisor and providing training seminars.

We seek a psychologist who, in addition to having strong clinical skills and interest in providing training and a range of clinical services, will provide an innovative vision and administrative leadership in a coordinated area of expertise. Responsibilities and Duties
Provide psychological services to students and consultation to faculty and staff on both a regular and emergency basis, and when necessary, during non-traditional hours, including, but not limited to crisis-intervention, assessment, counseling, treatment, and clinical consultation in individual and group formats. Provide clinical consultation to students, families, and campus in support of the mental health of the campus. Collaborate in efforts to provide services in new and creative ways; adhere to agency standards regarding case management, documentation, and parameters of service. Some evening hours with corresponding flex time may be available or required.
Provide clinical supervision and training to doctoral interns and externs by conducting seminars and other training activities. When assigned, supervises doctoral interns, externs and/or unlicensed staff members in their provision of psychological services, in professional development, and in support of the Counseling Center training program.
Expectation is that Maryland licensure as a psychologist will be obtained within one year from hire. Provide leadership in a coordinated area, including developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures in the coordinated area, tracking utilization, evaluating programs and services, and serving as a psycho-educational and clinical resource to the Counseling Center and to the campus. If applicable, supervises graduate assistants, and develops and maintains peer educator programs within the coordinated area. Maintains current standards, appropriate accreditations, and program licensure for the coordinated area. Contributes as requested to the overall leadership of the Counseling Center.
Provide outreach programming as assigned, including psychoeducation, health-education, and consultation in the Counseling Center Outreach Program, and assisting with recorded and online forms of programs and applications, including self-help resources, and Counseling Center web pages. Participate in the Student Affairs Division and the University mission in a variety of ways, such as collaborating with other departments on campus, attend university functions, and serve on task forces and committees as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
At least one semester of training or experience in a college or University Counseling Center or 4-5 months experience in brief treatment & outreach-providing settings.
A Doctoral Degree or ABD in Psychology by August 15, 2023, currently licensed or will be license eligible as a Psychologist in Maryland.
Licensure mandatory within 12 months of starting in the position.
