Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Associate Director of Internal Operations will work to support the mission and core values of the University and Department as a member of the leadership team. The Associate Director of Internal Operations will have broad supervision of the department’s events, compliance, support staff and budget operations. This position will serve as a department liaison to campus partners including campus career services, communications, marketing, admissions, and student affairs. In addition, this position will provide oversight of selected intercollegiate programs.
Lawrence University is a member of the NCAA Division III, Midwest Conference. Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, and Midwest Fencing Conference. Lawrence fields teams in 22 intercollegiate sports with approximately 360 scholar-athletes and is committed to a well-balanced program promoting excellence in both academics and athletics.
Responsibilities
Serves as a member of the leadership team and has oversight in the Director of Athletics absence.
Oversees NCAA rules compliance education, monitoring and student eligibility.
Establish monitoring processes for oversight of spending by sports and administrative units. Works directly with various internal and external constituencies to ensure proper execution of the department’s fiscal goals and expectations.
Develop, initiate, and support strategies that drive revenue, increase attendance, supports recruitment, and enhance in-game and fan experiences.
Work with athletic staff to fully integrate ARI software.
Assists with the oversight of various support staff groups.
Create and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and community members.
Liaison to, campus career services, communications, marketing, admissions, and student affairs.
Serve as Sport Administrator for select sports.
Contribute to the creation, promotion and running of various specialty events for student athletes and/or coaches and support staff. Support the planning, execution and tracking of community engagement opportunities for student-athletes, teams and department.
Attends university, conference, NCAA and other organizational meetings, as assigned.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Requirements
3-5 years of experience at the collegiate level.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Must have successful completion of criminal and MVR background check, meet University Authorized Driver Policy requirements, and favorable completion of reference checks.
