The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of the Urban and Social Policy (USP) Concentration and the US Specialization, the incumbent coordinates the day-to-day administration of the two units.

Responsibilities
Assists the USP/US Director with curriculum development and event scheduling, including concentration meetings, lectures and seminars. Coordinates logistics for the Director's meetings, concentration and faculty meetings, lectures, special seminars, retreats, field trips, social events, and other activities. Directs student staff in making room reservations, food arrangements, preparing materials and publicity, taking minutes, and doing the related follow up. Supports recruitment of full-time and part-time faculty and provides administrative support to faculty associated with the concentration/specialization.
Prepares statistical analyses for and provides the Director with data on concentration/specialization enrollment, student progress, graduate employment, etc. Assists the Director with gathering and organizing data helpful in developing the curriculum, including current and prospective curricular offerings, course evaluations, research on potential adjuncts, etc. Directs student staff on updating registration and other concentration/specialization materials, and reviews student degree audit forms for graduation. Works with Admissions, Career Services, and the Director, on student activities, to offer guidance about curriculum requirements, and to facilitate communication with potential employers of USP/US graduates through outreach and events.
Works with SIPA Alumni Relations to assist the Director in maintaining and strengthening ties to alumni, including helping maintain current employment and contact information for alumni and organizing alumni-student-faculty events.
Updates CourseWorks sites for USP/US courses and assists faculty members in updating materials. Documents procedures for all work associated with the role of Concentration Coordinator, and updates both paper and electronic files as necessary Manages updates and revisions to the USP website and calendar. Informs faculty and students of changes in curriculum, and keeps Student Affairs and other SIPA offices advised of changes in USP/US curriculum.
Supports USP/US workshops, including student travel arrangements, reimbursements, correspondence, and other activities as needed. Works with PAs on weekly newsletters for students in the concentration and specialization. Supports USP/US capstone workshops, including grant support, student travel arrangements and reimbursement, publicity, final reports, plenary sessions, briefings and final presentations.
Supports fundraising and grant management activities for USP/US workshops, special events, research projects or other activities. Currently, this includes Who???s On the Ballot, Communities Speak and the Center for Smart Streetscapes and two other grants. Duties related to these projects/programs include updating websites, sending out email blasts, scheduling, event and student hiring support.
Coordinates the concentration???s annual budget of $8,000, including troubleshooting billing and invoice issues and maintaining a spreadsheet of expenses. Performs periodic reviews of the budget with the Concentration Director and processes all expenses.
Works with the USP/US Director to recruit, train and oversee USP/US Program Assistants and Work Study employees. Assists with student advising, including explaining concentration/specialization requirements to students, and directing students to appropriate resources (e.g., Office of Student Affairs for guidance about curriculum requirements, USP/US faculty for advanced advising on USP/US curriculum).
Performs other related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of one year of related experience.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational ability.
Must have strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and/or databases.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred.
Prior experience in higher education or nonprofit administration highly preferred.
Prior experience in program coordination highly desirable.
Familiarity with the field of public policy and/or international policy strongly preferred.
